I didn't do the best art on this page, although it's saved somewhat by the lighting effects. I love drawing and coloring fire.

That's one big, mean, crow you got thar' :P Honestly, I felt vaugely sceptical when I found a comic about violent crows, as I was fearing some sort of The Birds ripoff. However, I'm really liking the look of this so far, the Crow King seems like a good horror villain, in the sense that he's silent, murderous and like a goddamn force of nature. I'm excited to see what matter of twists and turns we might see later in the series.

Exploding cars are such a cliche. I mean, seriously, which mentally sane country would allow cars that explode when crashing on their roads? Also, there isnt all that much explosive material in them, even with a full tank - but whatever ;)
Anyway, awesome comic, and I always liked your artwork such as in Last Blood - too bad its discontinued - but I actually think I like this comic better. It is... more unusual and the mood is perfect. Good work! :-D

From what I've read of the script so far it seems that the cliches are intentional, perhaps to hearken back to classic horror b-movies. Thanks for the compliments on the art, I'm hoping to use CS to help figure out a sort of quality x speed balance. It's also an excuse to use the inky dry brushes I'm currently obsessed with.

Oh, right. Yes. Sometimes cliches are a good thing. Its just that this car thing has always annoyed me to some extent. Balancing speed and quality is something I am glad to hear - I am sick of webcomics that feature great stories and good art which tend to output only 1 page a week - or even less - and sooner or later end up discontinued with the story just STARTED because the artist is tired of the time it consumes. Find a balance, please. I want to see more of this comic, and I dont want to wait forever for each new update :)
Oh, and please create a wallpaper with the big, demonic crow one day - when there is time - so I may use it for my desktop, avatars, whatever ;)

Yeah, either the cliches are intentional, or that tree is built out of whatever evil villains all over the world fill their barrels with for some reason or other. Anyway, I'd call the narrative devices used in this comic more Tropes than clichés, especially if it is done in jest, tribute or reference.

Tropes, yeah, I like that. Thanks. I think CS as almost one of those cheezy Sci-Fi channel movie of the week if it just happened to have a massive budget and special effects by WETA. I wish movies like that existed. There are some that are close, I just watched Poltergeist for the first time in years, that movie is very much "pop" horror. It's not really a monster movie though. Darabont's/King's " the Mist" is a pretty good example of decent budget monster movie although that was a different vibe than what we are trying to accomplish here. "Slither" maybe? That movie was good.
